Continuing of the Homeschooler's

Today I stopped by Katie's and of course it was RAINING! Katie and I were visiting when the kids came downstairs to greet, Nana. I literally cracked up, Jessalyn was in her bathing suit and wet! I said, have you been outside playing in the rain? No Nana, "I am playing in the bath tub with my new boat"! They learned about Christopher Columbus today and made boats out of foil. Mama told them after doing school work they could float their boats in the tub!!! Never a dull moment around the Padilla's.
Oh I almost forgot....I asked her what the boat's name was and she could tell me AND the year he sailed the ocean blue!!!

RAIN much needed!

So much for hanging out at the pool the final week of our pool being open! Tropical Storm Faye has dumped tons of rain on us. I can't complain as we really needed it. Our lawn was terribly thirsty and now that means Audy will have to mow it again soon. He's gotten out of mowing it alot this summer.
The Newman and Padilla's are all healthy and doing well. Katie is in her second week of homeschooling and the kids are adjusting. I really should say, Jessalyn is adjusting! This is Bryson's 3rd year and Jessalyn 1st year homeschooling. Katie said, the first couple of days Jessalyn would complain, "I am tired or I am hungry". And Katie had a talk with her about her attitude and would she say that to Ms. Karen? Ms. Karen was her K4 teacher last year whom she loved dearly! Jessalyn's answer was, "no"! So now they have that cleared!
I enjoyed hearing both of them tell me what they learned about the "Vikings" and it was part of history I had forgotten about. I got to help them with their craft project and it came out so cute (should have taken pictures!).
The first Friday of the month Jessica is going to come to the house and do Art with the kids. She is going to teach them the basic stuff about colors and do some crafts. Katie is looking forward to this time because she gets to spend time with Molly. Katie and I did some dreaming for Jess and it would be so much fun for Jessica to expand her talents to the other homeschooler's. She is so gifted and loves doing that sort of thing. Who knows what will open up in the future for her.
Skip and Jessica are doing good. Skip went back to the doctor and they adjusted his pain medication for the middle of the afternoon. That is when he's out with clients and getting in and out of the truck, walking and etc...is rough. Since doing that he says he's in better control. Poor guy dealing with the pain!! The big appt. comes when we get back from the beach....
Jessica stays busy with her home and Molly. And Molly is changing so much each day. They found out the other day she LOVES macaroni and cheese (baby food) just like her daddy and cousin Bryson. I think Jess has covered all the foods so now she gets to taste just about anything. She is going through a growth thing because she drinks all of her bottle and eats most of her food!
I am waiting for an email from my boss when I exactly go back to work. I am ready to get back in the swing of things. My knee still gives me trouble from time to time and I just ignore it and do what I have to do. Chalking it up to old age!
**19 days until the BEACH*** Pray we have beautiful weather and no hurricanes!

Do you see what I see?

She loves to put a cold glass on her gums. While doing that the glass was like a magnifying glass! We can see her soon to be teeth that will pop up any day!!

Pizza Night

We picked Molly up on Saturday evening for a night out on the town, well it started out with that plan but she pooped out earlier than planned! We went to our favorite pizza place, Olive Tree and several of the employee's there remember us bringing her in when she was only weeks old. Aunt Katie found the high chair/shopping cart cover so she was such a big girl and got to sit in a resteraunt high chair for the first time.

Sitting like a big girl

This was her reaction when they delivered the food at the table behind us!!!

After we got our pizza she wanted to sit on her Papa's lap...hum wonder why? Can't blame her for "hoping"!

She finally decided if he's not going to give her a bite, she do the next best thing, bite his thumb! I guess it tasted pretty good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAWSON

It was 3 years ago today Dawson came into this world. From the moment he took his first breath his Mama and Nana knew there was "something wrong". His cry was very raspy and not clear. The doctor said, "not to worry as he probably took in some fluid". After they moved mommy to her room and Dawson to the nursery I wandered down to watch from the newborn nursery window. There he laid such a big beautiful little boy and a head of hair on him! As I stood and watched his little body fight to breathe my heart became troubled. His rib cage was sinking in like the air was being sucked out of him. I compared him to the other babies in there with him and saw he was the only one doing that. Trying not to "panic" I went back to the room and Katie says, "Mom when are they going to bring me my baby?". I said to James, "lets take the camera and get some pictures first". That was my way to quietly get him out of the room and come and see what I saw. He too agreed with me something wasn't right. He went into the nursery and got someones attention.....long story short he stayed 9 days in NICU (ICU for babies) he had what you call, "Chemical pneumonia".....they pumped him with antibiotic's. For the first two years of his life he suffered alot from asthma but this past year had very few attacks. We PRAISE GOD for his good health...
They had his "CARS" birthday party with slippy slide and wading pool. It was a beautiful evening and the kids had a wonderful time chowing down on hot dogs and macaroni and cheese, of course!

Modeling his new swimsuit! CARS of course! Guess what car is in his hands! McQueen!

Bryson almost like Bambie!! All legs!

This is the "baby pool" for now until the "BIG" pool is build hopefully 2011!

All of his friends and their siblings. He only actually had 2 friends there!

Time Flies!!!

Is it really a week into August!! I looked at the calander and realized wow time sure flies! Molly came over and spent the day with us last week and as always we had such a good time. Katie was sweet and invited us all over for dinner but we were sad that Papa was at work.
We pay the final payment for the beach on Friday and it is coming up FAST..but not fast enough! Jessica cracked me up as she said, "mom I will have the van packed and ready to go by the 3rd week in August"!!! Are we anxious or what!!! It really is such a good and relaxing time for the Newman and Padilla families. This year we may have the elder Padilla's along this time. Poor folks coming from dry Arizona to our sauna coast!! Actually Sept. is a little cooler than August is but to someone else it's hot and humid!
I went over and babysit the grandchildren so Katie and James could have a date night. Katie and kids were gone when I arrived so I was already inside when the kids came dashing through yelling, "Nana's here"...Dawson stopped and says,"Nana what ya doin at my house" in his little southern boy accent...Katie and I cracked up!!!
