Critter Keeper!!

Our very dear and best friend Randy Miller is the Critter Keeper man! About a year ago he put together a selection of "critter's" and advertised to do birthday parties for a decent price. Well it's taken off! He's since then added several snakes and this one is his new one a python!! You can see Dawson has no fear of helping hold it up!!

Molly and the Jumparoo!!!

Thank goodness for "Craigslist"! Skip and Jess have been looking at these Jumparoo's and they are expensive about $90.00. Well they found one practically brand new for $30.00! Molly has truly enjoyed her Jumparoo experience!!

Happy "belated" 4th of July!

We had a very nice holiday. J.T. and Jen with their 4 children came down from North Carolina. J.T. just returned from Afganistan after a 15mo. tour. Because of the large crowd we had the BBQ over at Katie's. I didn't get many pictures but you have to understand the reason why!! There were 9 adults 7 children 14yr.to 3yrs. old and 3 babies under 10mo. old. Nana was very busy!

This picture is Jessica and Molly....Melissa and niece Claire (Rhonda's grandbaby)and LeAnn and niece Lani (this is Matt's wife). When we took the picture we didn't think about the babies being with the wrong mom's. They were so adorable!!

Jessica and Molly....so sweet uh?

Washington D.C.

A couple of weeks ago we took a trip with Dave and Rhonda to see some very dear friends in D.C. They actually live in Alexandra, Virgina which is a skip and a hop from D. C. Pastor Gray is an Army Chaplin and subs for Arlington. Sandra has been pinned as an "Arlington Lady". She works along side of her husband when they have funerals at the cemetery. She's the Lady of Comfort...at least that is how I see it. Anyways they gave us a "behind the scene's" tour and it was quite overwhelming. I have seen pictures of those rows and rows of headstones but when you actually drive through there it is quite different! That is the resting place for over 300,000 of our men and women who have served in the military. There is one section just for the Irag war vet's and there was a "mother, wife, daughter or a friend" who had her blanket spread out on a grave. She was just sitting there and several tourist had approached her. Maybe she was sharing her grief.
As we came around another corner all of a sudden we were on the back side of the Pentagon where the 9-11 plane crashed. We had no idea it was that close to Arlington.
That evening we took a drive downtown as Bryson wanted a picture of the White House. He was slightly disappointed that President Bush wasn't outside enjoying the beautiful evening!!
We had such a wonderful weekend. These are our dear friends that we have known for many years and Pastor Gray was one of our pastors in Guam. They spend a few years in Greenville before pastoring a church in Penn. when he was "recalled" into the military and offered a position as a Chaplin. He went to Kwait for a year and Sandra and daughter Hannah hung out with Rhonda and I in Greenville. They are enjoying being in D.C. very much and hope to have their orders extended for another one or two years.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today is James birthday....we celebrated it on Saturday and today I am making him his favorite cake...Banana Split Cake. They are having some friends over tonight for his birthday....I was just thinking this morning he has been a part of our lives now for 19 years!!! So that makes him 36 years old....was teasing him that the BIG 40 is in 4 years! He is not just a wonderful son in law, husband and father but he's a Best Friend to have. We love you James.....

Guess who?

It's Dawson! Bryson made this mask at Vacation Bible School last week.

Jessalyn

Jessalyn is always at hand to help her Aunt Jess out with Molly. Aunt Jess is so wonderfully sweet and patient in teaching Jessalyn how to change her diaper and even got a lesson on changing her clothes. Of course the boys want to help and they are they are the "diaper tosser".

What's new with Molly

MOLLY:
It's amazing how fast they grow. She is now about 4 1/2 months. Always excited to experience something new. And very much loved by her Aunt Katie and Uncle James and of course her cousins. She is going to be Jessalyn's shadow!

FATHER'S DAY

We are celebrating Father's Day and James birthday(17th)tonight. He has requested our Mongolian BBQ and guess what? He has a baseball game right in the middle of our BBQ. Since it takes awhile for each person to have their favorite mongolian dish cook we agreed he should go to his game and when he gets back his food will be ready to go!! Jessica made him his favorite, Strawberry cake.
I would like to wish Hap a very Happy Father's Day....we are thankful to have Audy's dad in good health and a sound mind;-). We do have to remind him to be careful on his bike as he took a fall a few weeks ago and did a number on his leg. He "says" it's improving.
My dad has been gone for 6 1/2 years now. It doesn't seem possible! June 21 he would have been 78! To me that is still rather young!
Audy is excited about spending his day with his family. He has agreed to cook but saving his new shirt until "after" he bbq's.
Tomorrow we are taking the "Father's" Audy,James and Skip to Macaroni Grill. Yep this is Skippy's first father's day too. He is making such a good recovery and we are rather excited about his progress. Between pain management and physical therapy there has been a break through. His goal date for going back to work is June 26th.
I told him last night he was sure going to miss his "girls".

Knee Surgery

Well my knee surgery went well on Friday. The doctor said that he took care of the problem for now. I do have some arthirtis in the knee and to look for a knee replacement "someday". Until then it will be nice to be able to walk "normal" and chase the children again. No more "Come on Nana!" It will now be, "Wait for me Nana!"
Thanks for your prayers!

MEMORIES and BEST FRIENDS!!

Padilla's and Everett's did a camp out in the Padilla's backyard. Jon and Jennifer have the same age kids as Katie's kids. All three of them are the best of friends. James worked so hard to get the projector "just right" and when it was completed Auntie Rhonda says, "wow James you are a hero". (that is Jon in the background fixing the computer....

Jessalyn and Kate just buddies.

The children are waiting for the show to begin!

"Auntie Rhonda-Grammy to her little ones and Nana...in awe of all the excitement around us.

Jon and James is somewhere...getting the stuff together for the tents. James, Jon, Bryson and Blake made it until 6 a.m. when they woke up to thunder and down pour of rain! Oh well! It was fun............

"When summer get's here, now I know why I like summer" (Audy's quote)

"GOTCHA NANA"

Dawson and Mommy

Molly Anna

Molly in her little car floatie. Now mind you this water is so cold!!! She didn't make a peep either.

I have to agree with Audy. Going to the pool with the kids the last couple of days reminds me why we like summer. To catch up on the Newman-Padilla family here's the latest scoop!
Molly had her 16 week checkup and passed it with flying colors. She now weighs
12#10oz. and Doc said, "she was pefect". She now rolls over and loves to stand and sit up on your lap like a big girl.
Skippy is finally seeing "the light at the end of the tunnel". He starts therapy next week and they are going to run a pretty tough test on his back on Monday. He has set his goal to go back to work two weeks from Monday. Being home so much he realized just how much he was addicted to his xbox and video games so he sold it on Craigslist for a good price and bought him and Jessica a Wii...they have had so much fun on it. He told me the other day that he quit playing Mario Brothers with her because she was whipping him. Now I know why no one wanted to play with me when I was a kid! LOLOL
Jessalyn is finished with school and Bryson has about 3 more days of work to do. He gets his cast off on Monday. That hasn't slowed him down as he swims with it on!! They went to the beach over Memorial weekend and had a wonderful time.
Audy has started his 2-10p.m. shift and so far we have really enjoyed the change. We love getting up in the morning and drinking coffee together.
Deanna has her knee surgery on Friday the 6th. I will be glad to get this behind me!

School is OUT

Now that school is out and I am done working for the summer I have more time with the grand kids. I wish I had gotten pictures but I didn't so I will have to tell you about it.
On Monday I had Molly for the day and stopped by and picked up Jessalyn for a "girls day" at Nana's. While Molly was taking a nap Jessalyn and I drew on the driveway with chalk and Nana made a hopstoch. That was so much fun teaching Jessalyn different ways to play it. My next idea is to get one of those rubber balls and play two and four square...anyone remember that game!? The day went by so fast that her mom called about 5p.m. and says, "Mom do you want me to come and pick up Jessalyn"? She was playing house in the backyard and we both lost track of time!!!
When Jessalyn and I were leaving to come over Dawson was screaming and crying, "I want to go to Nana's house"....broke my heart! If I had his carseat I would have given in!!! So when I dropped her off he reminded me that "it was his turn"....
So Tuesday mommy dropped off Bryson and Dawson for an afternoon....when Dawson laid down for a nap (he loves sleeping on our bed!) Bryson and Nana played the Wii and did bowling and tennis. I am sure everyone knows what a Wii is....for me who doesn't care for video games this is awesome!!! We had a blast!
I did have several more "events" to work at but my kind boss emailed me and said, "we were talking and decided you were prolonging your knee surgery long enough for us that we will release you from the last few events". They were right about me prolong it. If I commit to something I want to follow it through. It just so happened that the doctor had called that day and set my surgery for June 6. It is an oupatient surgery, loposcopy (however you spell it). I had it done over 5 years ago on my left knee. I am heading for knee replacement a few years down the road....
but until then I just want to be able to hopstoch with Jessalyn for now!!
Skip is finally finding some relief with his back. They upped the pain patch so he should feel some relief today. His records are being reviewed with a pain management and therapy clinic and we are hoping he starts with that at least by Monday. He has decided to do his short term disability and get this behind him once and for all......as we remind him, one day at a time.
I am sooo envious of Katie's family!! They are leaving on Friday for a long weekend at the beach! The weatherman says we are to have beautiful weather...goodie for them! Now that our pool is open we will probably hang out over there. I am not to thrilled about "hopping right in" as the water is going to be so COLD for a little while. Our mornings these days are 57 and gradually warms up to upper 70's so you know that pool isn't warming up too fast!

New Pictures soon....it has been a long long 12 days since I have posted. God has answered many prayers and mended some hearts in our family....In other news.....
Bryson jumped off trampoline the wrong way and landed on his arm and now wears an orange neon cast. He was talking with a friend of mine and she asked him about it and he says, "Well I have good news and bad news....bad news is I have to wear it for 4 years (really 4 weeks) and good news is it's broken!" She thought he was a hoot!
Audy has started his 2pm-10pm shift as of Sunday. He is doing good just adjusting. We enjoy our coffee in the mornings together. I did have my MRI(on my knee) on Monday morning and go to the doctor next week.

Tea Party with Jessalyn

Forget the koolaid and cookies, "I cleaned my hands, please may I hold Molly"!

When I got her home I had to take a picture in her beautiful little smock dress that her Aunt Ally bought for her.

Her preschool calls it a "Tea Party" but what it really is, is a end of the year program for of the mommies. Each class did a little program and were dismissed to sit with their guest. We were provided with koolaid and cookies and a hershey kiss.
Jessalyn was so happy to see that Mommy had Molly as I was the one with the video camera. They did a really good job!

BEAUTIFUL DAY

Bryson has lost another tooth....

They just love Maggie....resting after a playtime!

I think Dawson was a little "sad" when I told him the dolfin swing is now for Molly.

Over all we had a wonderful day today. While listening to an audio story Jessalyn and I colored and did some stamping. Bryson built a fort with his Lincoln logs. Was it just yesterday that I bought them for him and neither one of us knew how to build anything??? Now he's showing Dawson how to do it!
After eating lunch outside they ended their day with popcicles and mommy came and picked them up.
Next time they come to play we will be playing with our new Wii....Target has plenty on hand from what I hear!

Before I went to work this afternoon I got to stop by and have some "Molly time". I got her dressed and we snuggle for awhile and then I had to head for work. Well this was the long waited for day for Mommy to start her new job from home. Her boss Tonya came over to go over somethings that she needed to know. Wouldn't you know it Molly had a total melt down and did not enjoy sharing her mommy with this "strange" lady!!! Then to take these pictures below. You'd never guess she had a melt down earlier would you????? Is that a female for you or what???

Molly

Jessica just emailed me these pictures she took while on her "tummy time"

I took this picture last week when we were having Nana time. She is a hoot!!1

New Blogs

I just love my new hobby blogging!!! I have made renewed relationships with several young ladies whom Katie and Skip grew up with. They too are now married and raising families. I get the biggest kick out of hearing about their day to day life and ups and downs of raising children. It's been neat to update my blog with new pictures and family news. It is read all the to Alaska and back down the West coast especially in Washington, Oregon and California....across the middle of USA to Kansas, Wis., Ohio over to New York, down to Washington D.C. and the south....
Other than catching up on others I truly enjoy one special blog and that is Grace for Women. This young lady is a gifted writer and such insights of day to day relationship with the Lord, God Bless you Keri.
Now Audy has named me the "Coupon Queen". I have just posted a new blog address about coupons I hope you check it out especially if you are like me, clipping coupons. I have gotten my daughter in law right behind me! With Katie I usually clip her coupons for her and give her memo's of good sales. She is a busy mom with homeschooling and etc...For you Bloom shoppers that get those 10.00 off coupons in the mail please take note that Publix and Bilo accepts them as well. I try and be loyal to Bloom but I shop where the sales are!
I'm back from North Carolina! Jessica is offically an Auntee on her own now. Edwin had a very hard time coming into this world and had the bruises to prove it! Mommy, Daddy and Edwin are doing great.
Molly and I had a wonderful time together. I will post some pictures soon.
While I was gone Papa stayed busy with the other grand kids. They were always wondering where Nana was. Uusally it's the other way around! He went to an Open House at Jessalyn's school on Friday night and then Saturday was Soccer games. Sissy made two goalie's.....can't wait to see her in action!
Katie's family didn't make it to church last night so on our way home we called about stopping by. We arrived with Mc Donald's hot fudge sundies and sat at the table and chatted. Jessalyn says, "Nana I asked Jesus into my heart today". We were so happy for her and chatted about being "born again". Bryson spoke up and said, " I was born again when I was 5 and now Sissy and I are christian's". What a great day!!!

Saturday Saturday, Something about a Saturday

When I think about today that song runs through my head! We have had several spring days and now another yucky day! I guess we can't complain much because according to some friends in midwest they have had snow! Audy's sister is dealing with 16 degree's in Alaska. As Audy says, "what's this about globle warming".
Anyways we have had a very busy week. No new pictures. I have my M&M today (Molly munchin as I call her) so I should get some pictures. She's growing like a little weed these days and the tummy issues are few and far between. Loves to coo and talk and recognises all the "important" people.
Bryson has completed his second year in Classical Conversation and even was recognized for his accomplishments. Last night was his program of all the different classes and they did a wonderful job. Several of our kids from church did some recital pieces before the program. One little girl played the piano and the other one did the violin. Good job guys! Skip, Jess and Molly were able to make it so we made it a family night and went for ice cream later. It was overall a fun evening.
I continue to have problems with my knee. I did have an appt. a week from Monday but they moved it up to May 5. Audy had I have talked at length about going ahead and let them order a MRI. I have been miserable with the pain and ignoring it thinking it'll go away. My boss has been good to let me sit down as much as I can but I miss being real active.
Skip is going to go to a specialist in the next few weeks for his back. We are really praying that it is something that can be treated in physical therapy. He has had some rough days this week. He has one more interview for this promotion on Monday.
Wednesday I am leaving with Skip and Jess to go to Raliegh, North Carolina until Saturday. Jessica's sister is having her first baby on Wed. so I will be a "nanny" to Molly while they are at the hospital. The weather says it's to be in the 80's and no rain so I am looking forward to those few days.

Molly is 2 months old

Jessica sent me these pictues and wanted to share our sweetie with you.

SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

Jessica shared a big blessing with me about Skip's scheduled MRI on Friday. He had a MRI done about a year ago but they LOST IT. Skip has been calling and calling about this MRI. Well you know how time flies you don't get back to it until you are "reminded" with chronic pain once again! Well Doc ordered another MRI and that was the one scheduled for Friday. Skip was already stressed about being in the tunnel and was in the dressing room getting ready when the nurse said, Mr. Newman (that makes him sound so old, he's still my little Skippy) have you injured your back since Dec.06's MRI? He says no, why? Well I have that MRI right here!!! Skip says, I have been calling and calling about it! So as Jess says, he saved $600.00!
Now he has to wait for the specialist's appt. and hopefully they don't want another MRI. He says his back is very sore. One day at a time!

ANOTHER BLESSING: I had an email from my friend Sandra whom many of you prayed for back in Feb. as she slipped on some ice and broke her hip. This happened while she was Chicago taking care of Lindsay. Pastor Gray had to drive from D.C. to take her home after her surgery. Well the blessing is she is FINALLY in therapy and graduating from a walker to a cane soon. She has requested that we continue to pray for her because it seems she has messed up her knee as well in the fall. She is scheduled for a CAT scan soon. AND Lindsay is due to have her baby in a few weeks!

Another Blessing: I have had trouble with my knee for quite sometime. A pain that I can live with until a couple of weeks ago when I woke up to a swollen knee and could barely walk. That was a horrible feeling of being immobile!! I have things to do, places to go, grandchildren and etc...it was quite discouraging for me. I end up at the doc's and he said, I had a severe case of arthritis and set me up an appt. with and ortho doc. It took about 10 days to get that appt. so of course up to a couple of days before my appt. my knee began to feel better. At least I could walk again! Yesterday was my appt. and Audy took off early to go with me because he knew they would probably give me a shot and he's had a few himself and talk about painful!!! Well we met the doc and he said, hum I see the swelling and ordered x-rays. The x-rays came back showing NO ARTHRITIS that was a PRAISE....but wanted to give me a shot in the knee and see me back in 3 weeks for further tests. The nurse came in with the needle and Audy says, "see you later!" and LEFT ME! I take a deep breath and say to myself, okay Deanna remember your verse, I can do all things through Christ! I squeeze my eyes shut tight and doc goes are you OKAY? And I say yes, I am a big girl, I am rewarding myself with some grandbaby love afterwards! He smiled and says, "all done! And you were a big girl, that hurt"!
